Tis The Season!

Quote of the Day:  "Enjoy the little things in life, for you may look back and realize they were the big things"

Tis the Season to be jolly! :D  Life is simply wonderful- I honestly have no complaints!  Yes, if you hear me complain later on you can quote me on this but as of right now I am perfectly happy and content!  Those of you responsible know who you are ;).  On Christmas Day we got an early phone call on Skype from my brothers!  It is one thing to talk to your missionaries, but it is so much better when you get to see them!  Steve started off and it was so great to hear that his humor is still well in tact!  And for those of you wondering, Steve is still the hilarious stud we remember him as!  Grant called about an hour later with the same huge smile he left with!  His enthusiasm could be felt over the Skype connection!  Both Steve and Grant are doing well, and have shared amazing experiences that they are having on their missions.  I couldn't be more proud of them!  I got to talk to my triplet brothers, spend time with family, enjoy the season, and got great gifts!  What more could a girl ask for?!?!
On Monday the 27th we left for St. George!  It is such a great escape- and it is warm!  I packed a bunch of stuff to keep me occupied in my bag, but didn't use any of it because I slept basically the entire drive!  This is what college does to people, seriously!  Today (Wednesday the 29th)  we took my Grandma shopping for her Christmas gift.  She always takes us shopping for Christmas and Birthdays, so it was my aunt's idea to take her instead!  It was so much fun, and my Grandma is super hip now!
This has been the best Christmas break I could have hoped for!  We have created so many memories and have had so many good laughs!  I am loving Utah State, loving my family, and truly loving life!  Hope you enjoyed my post!  I would say talk to you soon, but I can't make any promises ;)  I will update my post....sometime!  Happy Holidays everybody, and enjoy the remaining days of 2010!

What a Year!

I apologize for being very terrible at updating my blog!  Life has been crazy but it's a fantabulous crazy!  I am going to be a Junior this next semester because of all of my credits and it is awesome!  I have switched my major from English in Technical Writing to Speech Pathology which I am so thrilled about!  I have come to the conclusion that I want to be working with people- not with a computer who just calls me stupid behind my back!  ;)  It was an amazing experience how I changed my major, but I know without a doubt that that is what I am supposed to do for the rest of my life.  Everything in my life has prepared me for this career path, and I get to do all the things I have always wanted to do!  I am so excited for the future and can't wait to begin my classes in Speech Pathology!
My brothers are serving their missions faithfully and I am so proud of them!  I think they are doing better then I do sometimes ;) but I know they are where they are supposed to be!  I couldn't be more proud of them!  I look forward to their letters and laugh and cry with them.
Life could not be better honestly!  Everything is falling into place, and I have everything to be grateful for- especially during this Holiday Season.  Things are bound to get hard, so I am enjoying the sunshine before the sun hits (quite literally AND figuartively hehe).  Thank you to all who have been such a blessing in my life.  Without you and your influence I would not be the person I am today!  I love you all and wish you the best in whatever you are pursuing right now!  XOXO  :D

A Start of An Epic Week

Monday- The Family Home Evening activity was dinner at the bishopric homes=free food!  My family was meeting at Bishop Cash's home, and I dragged my roommates along with me :).  I was under the impression that we were supposed to meet at the apartment at 6:30, but it was actually at 6:00!  Realizing this, we all piled into the beast (my suburban) to drive there.  We got there when everyone was eating, and quickly got in line to fill our stomachs!  On the menu were sloppy joes and ice cream sundaes for dessert!  The sloppy joes were the best sloppy joes I have ever had!  Delicious!  We all had a great time laughing and talking, and it was fun to catch up over free food!  After eating, there was a thought and a prayer- then we decided to play Red Rover!  I have to admit I was hesitant to participate... The last time I played Red Rover was when I was rather young.  When I was called over, I ran as fast as I could and got clothes lined!!!!  It hurt so bad!  I decided to play and am glad I did- it was so much fun!  My roommates and I played football, and got good enough to go pro ;)  hahaha.
When we returned to our apartment, we were very hyper and decided to take advantage of it.  We have been wanting to make a music video for a long time now, and decided that it was the perfect time to do it!  We invited Ben over to film our crazyness, and did many scenes around Merrill Hall to the Kelly Clarkson song, Since You Been Gone.  It was so so so much fun!  We look so hot in our sunglasses and outfits- a band in the making for sure!
We were heading back to our apartment, when Andrew invited us to play Capture the Flag on the quad to which we quickly agreed!  We all got changed into "work out clothes" and joined the group playing.  That was the greatest game of capture the flag I have ever played- EVER!!!!  I was in charge of guarding the flag, and did a pretty good job of it if I do say so myself!  About half way through the game, I really wanted to go to the front line to where the action was, so I did.  It wasn't longer than a minute that I was running after someone and pulled a muscle!  It hurt so bad!  I limped back in shame to my previous spot and continued to play.  I guess I am not meant to be in the front huh?  :)  After the game ended, Ben, Becky, and I walked back Merrill, all of us limping in pain but laughing so hard!  It was a perfect end to an epic day!

Ketchup (hehehe so punny!)

Once again, I am slacking on my posts and am trying to redeem myself!  Better late then never, right?!

Tuesday of Last Week- My roommates and I went to Olive Garden for delicious food!  It was great to get out of the dorm and eat REAL food for once!  Plus, the food was served to you without you having to lift a finger to prepare it :) I call that a success story right there!  It is a good day when your tummy is full :).

Wednesday of Last Week- There was free ice skating for a ward activity but none of my roommates were up to going.  I wasn't feeling good, and found out why later that night!  Jessie and I took our mattresses off our beds and put them together on the floor, set the laptop on our desk, and had our own movie night with delicious Moose Tracks ice cream!  It was wonderful :)  We totally wish we would have thought of it sooner!  I reheated the seafood Alfredo I got at Olive Garden the night before.  It was very good, but a little after eating it I started itching.  And then the strangest thing happened -the place from my eyelids to my eyebrows started to swell up!  No joke, I have witnesses!  It was all red and puffy and very itchy!  It was the strangest allergic reaction ever!  I got Benadryll (sadly not in liquid form with a sippy straw like in the movie Hitch hehe) but the swelling went down which was very good :)  What a day!

Friday of Last Week-  I headed home to be with my sister which was actually tons of fun!  We have grown A LOT closer since I have been away at college which is so nice.  She is the greatest!  I love her so much!  I saw a slide show presentation she was putting together and on one of the slides she has her hero- and her hero is me!  Me of all people!  I felt so good and almost cried!  I slept in my nice big bed, which was very inviting after sleeping on the prison-like college beds ;).

Saturday of Last Week-  The next morning I woke up early with my sister to get ready, eat breakfast, and take her to her first federation!  As anyone would be she was very nervous, but having gone through many federations and performances myself I tried to give her as many tips as possible that helped me.  It was chaotic finding parking, but finally we arrived (and early I must add :) ).  I have never been so proud of my sister - for her first federation she got a superior!  Her tone was amazing and she looked like a little pro up there!  I am so glad I got to go home to be with her and to have that time with my amazingly fantastic sis.  Life is good!

Sunday of Last Week-  Morning came very early the next day.  I had to wake up at 6:30 to load my suburban (the beast) with my stuff to head back to Logan.  I was in charge of conducting, so I had to be back by 8:45 at the latest to help set up and prepare the room.  It was a nice drive: very peaceful in the morning.  Conducting went smoothly and things went really well.  The Linger Longer after church was scrumptious and a lot of fun!  Free food and socializing is always enjoyable :).
Later that day, we had a Joseph Smith fireside (which was actually a musical).  I sat by Ben who was kind enough to allow me to sit by him- "Because nobody sits alone!"  I had fun at the event and enjoyed Ben's company!

That's it for now, but I will be blogging again very soon!  Later!

Three Days in One Post

So I have been very bad at updating my blog, so sorry!
Saturday was much needed:  I slept till 11:45!!!  Yes, it wasn't the most productive thing I could have done but it sure felt good.  After getting ready for the day, or at least the half of the day that was remaining, Jessie asked me if she could take pictures of me.  Of course I responded yes, because who doesn't like getting pictures to feel pretty?!!!!
It was a lot of fun, and I totally felt like a model (haha the simple joys in life.)  If was a great way to make me feel good about myself, and I learned just how amazing Jessie is at photography (among other things)!  If you are curious to see the pictures, please see my facebook photos :).

Sunday went well because I did my hair (for like the 5th time in my life ;) haha) and got as ready as I could because 9:00 church sure comes fast!  I had a cute outfit to wear and Jessie let me borrow her shoes.  I got some looks like "Wow, when she actually tries she looks good"  haha but it's all good!  I felt good and that's all that matters right?!  It was a very spiritually uplifting day and I enjoyed it fully.

Monday started off extremely crazy.  First of all, both Jessie and I slept in till 9:15 when we both have classes at 9:30!  Talk about panic!  I swear my alarms did not go off!  I missed my English quiz, forgot my flash drive, and would be rushing to classes all day.  No fun.  I got chewed out by my group for a group project for not having my flash drive, even though I did the assignment and have been on top of things every other time.  Sigh haha.  I was feeling down and had no really good reason, which was frustrating.  I like to have reasons for my frustrations or my moods.  I called my mom and had a good talk which made me feel better.
I didn't really have anything huge to look forward to, so I got all cute for FHE which did wonders. You may think it's silly, but looking good truly does make you feel good!  Jessie picked out my outfit so of course I felt extra cute!  She is so stylish (believe it Jessie!).  FHE was fun and there were free hot dogs!  That was the highlight.
This school year has about killed me off!  I have so many projects I have been working on forever, and I am killing myself to do all of them- all BEFORE finals!  Yes, there is something wrong with this picture!  I am so so ready for the end of the year, and for summer to start!
Anyway, there is my updates on three days in one post!  Hope it all makes sense, because I am tired and as I don't have my glasses on I can't see anything!  Later!

"It's All Good"

"It's All Good" is a phrase that Grant uses all the time, and I thought it was appropriate because life is still "all good!"  I didn't blog yesterday, my apologies if you are following my blog religiously!
First off, this is a post I am writing today about yesterday (April 8).  Also, 10 hours of sleep does a body so much good!  I had a great day yesterday, and it was probably because I actually got some sleep!
Yesterday I had Jessie pick out my outfit because I was too lazy to (yes, it IS possible to be that lazy hehe).  She picked out a cute top I haven't worn here at Utah State yet, and I picked out a necklace that matched quite well.  She even let me wear her peach converse shoes - how sweet is she?!
Well, I must say that looking and feeling cute sure does make a day better!  I got asked if I cut my hair...even thought it was the fact that I actually did it for once!  Haha gotta love it!  Jessie and I went to the TSC so she could mail her letters, and then we went to the bookstore so I could get some colored paper.  I can't do math like I used to; I had to recount my 15 pages of paper like three times to make sure it would be enough for what I wanted to print on each paper.
I dragged Jessie to the computer lab in Ray B. West because I have like a bizillion prints there with all of my English classes.  I asked the guy if I could put my stack of colored paper in the printer as to use up more of my free prints.  He said yes and everything was going smoothly until I tried to print two slides per page.  This proved to be extremely difficult, even thought I know it has been done before!
I was printing 30 fliers for my Relief Society Activity I am planning where two girls are coming to show just how fake media's view of 'perfection' is and how to stay away from its harmful influence if you were curious.  It finally worked after many trial runs, and I went to the printer to collect my precious papers.  As I was waiting for the final page, the guy who had been helping me said, "That's a really cool thing that you're doing for your Relief Society thing."  I thanked him and explained what the presentation was going to be about.  If felt really good to brag about my hard work honestly, because it has taken a very long time to set up!
I went to gather my belongings, and Jessie said, "He totally has the hots for you!"  Not gonna lie, I felt good about myself after that!  :)
Jessie had class so I took the opportunity to get gas for my suburban and stop at Rue 21 (now my absolute favorite store!).  Gas was awfully expensive, especially for The Beast's (the suburban) tank!  I went to Rue 21 to see if they had anymore amazing deals, and it turns out they did!  I am starting to really like Converse style shoes - something I thought I would never like in a million years!  I actually found a pair of jean fabricated converse shoes for only $5!  That's sure better than the $5 foot long Subway sandwiches I keep hearing about!
When I got back to Merrill (home sweet home), Jessie and I left to go do service at the DI.  It was actually a great experience.  I always want to do service, but I never find opportunities to do it!  I felt amazing during and afterward, because I was doing something for someone else rather than just doing everything for me.  Usually students get caught up in their needs, even when others are struggling more than them.  I felt amazing!  I also learned that jeans and I don't get along!  Every time I would hang up a pair of jeans, the jeans around them would fall to the ground and I would have to hang those up too.  This process continued for awhile.
After an hour and a half of volunteering, Jessie and I were very tired, and starving!  I don't have anything in my cupboards anymore because I have yet to go to the store.  We were trying to brainstorm ideas of what to make when we got back, but I didn't feel like doing anything.  Instead of cooking, we went to the Marketplace and had the most delicious meal ever!  Jessie and I are definitely twins, because we both got a taco salad with the same things on it :)  Destined to be roommates for sure!!!!
I don't think life can get any better!

Accomplishment Feels Good

I can't remember the last time I had a day for myself!  I watched a movie and enjoyed just sitting doing nothing :).  I spent a long time working on a movie assignment that's not due for awhile, but I felt so useless without doing something!  I got my relief society fliers out that I have been wanting to get out since last week but didn't have time to.  All I have to do is print them off on colored paper and we should be all set!
I wrote to my brother!  That felt really good to do.  Elder Hammon is doing so spectacular in the MTC!  He is having wonderful experiences there and sounds like he is enjoying and soaking in every minute there!  He is truly in his element serving a mission.  I really feel that he is serving the mission he has been serving his whole life- simply in a different place.
I can't express how great life is!  I know this feeling won't last long, but I am enjoying it while it lasts!  I am going to catch up on my sleep that I haven't gotten in like...3 weeks!  Do my eyes deceive me?!?  The clock shows 10:59 presently!  Wow, it has definitely been awhile since THAT has happened!  I am going to bed so early compared to the normal time of 1 AM anymore!
Well anyway, before I ramble on all night and lose the sleep I am trying to gain, I bid adeu till we meet again!  Later, and Goodnight :).

"Laugh Often; Love Much; Live Well"

Isn't life just wonderful!?!  WoW!  I simply have so much to be grateful for!  Quoting a Paramore song, "Things are looking up oh finally!"  The past few weeks have been extremely difficult to be honest.  I have been through a lot this year without a doubt, but I have learned so much about myself.  I know without a doubt that my Heavenly Father loves me, and that the minute we turn to him, no matter how unworthy we may feel or be, He is anxious and willing to encircle us all in his warm and comforting embrace.
I feel that angels are sent down to this Earth to help us along the way.  Quoting Wicked's For Good, "Because I knew you, I have been changed for good."  This is the absolute truth with my roommate Jessie.  She is an Angel sent just for me!  She is willing to do anything and everything for me, no matter what.  She understands me and is so compassionate; not to mention how she keeps me laughing and giggling till the wee hours of the morning ;) hehehe.  Selfless and genuine, she is definitely a role model of mine.  I have needed her more than she will ever realize because I honestly didn't know how I was going to make it through the end of the school year.  But now, I have hope, happiness, and a life that is full of pure joy!
I once heard that "Everything happens for a reason."  That is simply my life motto.  I can't see how things happen by chance or coincidence because there is always a higher power showing tender mercies without fail.  I am grateful for the opportunities I have, and for the experiences I have gone through.  I am grateful for my wonderful friends who stick by me through thick and thin.  Most of all, I am grateful for the church and for my extraordinary family.  I wouldn't be where I am today without their outstanding influence on me.
If you are reading this, please take a moment to stop and think of all the things you have to be grateful for.  Yes, I know it's not Thanksgiving, but it's good for you.  Oh, and one more thing:  Don't forget to smile!  :)  Later!

This is Jessie

Haha. My name is Jessie and I am helping Mary Ann set up her very first blog. Next time you'll hear from her yourself.
